Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Baptisms

"Anyone can get in touch with a church to find about having their child christened. During a christening your child will be baptised with water. It’s the start of an amazing journey of faith for your child and a special day for all your friends and family." - Church of England

Revs. Sue and Philip are most happy to talk to you about having your baby/child christened in any of our three churches. Most of our Christening services are held on a Sunday afternoon but we are occasionally asked to Christen a child in the main Sunday Holy Communion service and that is fine too.

We prefer to only christen one child at a time (unless you have asked for siblings to be christened together!) so you and your family will not be part of a larger unfamiliar gathering. You may want to find out more about the christening service before you speak to us. If you have any questions about the Baptism/Christening of your baby/child please follow the link below:

Service of Thanksgiving for the Gift of a Child

There are also special services for families wishing to mark and celebrate the birth or adoption of a child but are not looking for baptism at this time. We are also happy to offer a service of thanksgiving - do speak to either Sue or Philip if this is something that you are looking for.

Adults

It may be that you were not Christened as a baby or young child-but it’s never too late! We also offer adult baptism and many parents think about this before having their own baby or child Christened. Again, the Church of England has all the information you need on their website (see below) but either  Sue or Philip will be happy to explore this with you.
